An Tran, a Vietnamese Physicist, received his PhD degree from Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, France (2019) under the supervision of Prof. Anne Amy-Klein and Dr. Benoit Darquié. His PhD research focused on high-precision molecular spectroscopy using mid-infrared quantum cascade lasers with SI-traceability. In 2019, he joined the research group of Prof. Grant Ritchie as a postdoctoral researcher for the development of ultra-sensitive continuous-wave cavity-enhanced polarimeters for measuring optical rotation of chiral molecules in visible and near-infrared spectral regions. This work was funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020, ULTRACHIRAL Project.
In January 2022 An started a new role as a higher research scientist at the National Physics Laboratory in Teddington working with optical atomic clocks and frequency combs in metrological capacity.
