Before coming to the UK, Hamza received three MSc degrees in Physics (Astrophysics, Theoretical Physics, Spectroscopy) and a PhD in France in Laboratory Astrophysics where he enjoyed using lasers to study elementary reaction dynamics. He did a first postdoc working on developing techniques for controlling and probing molecules using magnetic fields in Swansea University. He then decided to return to his first love and came to Oxford to study energy transfer in reaction dynamics using lasers and FTIR.
Beside research, Hamza is a coffee addict and active in remote outreach and developing networks between Algerian Physicists.
